Are you and your team conducting business as if you could be mystery shopped at any time?
Have you even been on alert for a mystery shopper? You get word that your company is “bringing someone in”, “making some changes”, etc… so we are all on our best behavior, answering all questions in a friendly manner, going above & beyond…
Whether you know that your company, your competitor or a 3rd party is mystery shopping, most people have a tendency to “turn on the charm”. But what about the other times?
Do you always:
- Answer/return calls and emails promptly?
- Service the “caller” to the best of your ability, whether they are a potential or current client or not? Remember, the sales person or plumber calling you will need a place for their parents one day and may be asked for recommendations.
- Give current clients & their family & related professionals the time & customer service they need?
- Respect other’s time. Don’t keep people waiting. Your time is no more valuable than theirs. If you can’t deal with something right away, let them know when you will be in touch and stick to your word.
- Use every opportunity to brand your organization and promote it’s many offerings
If you feel you and your team are doing these things consistently, good for you! If you’re not sure, maybe you should do some mystery shopping yourself, or find someone to do it for you. You can ask a friend, or find a company that provides this service.
Every “call” should be handled as if it were a mystery shopper. Otherwise, you could be losing out on new and referral business.
