The AAHSA/GlynnDevins Social Media Lab was a great addition this year – a large area in the exhibit hall where attendees learned a bit more about social media and got to experience live demos, etc.
This definitely shows the trend in social media and internet headed into the aging industry. There was a noticeable increase in the number of marketing and architectural firms exhibiting. The economy doesn’t seem to be affecting many of the vendors, as their booths were as large and elaborate as ever. Economy did seem to affect the attendees, less attendees although the ”quality” of the attendees was high. The show was a great way to “learn” more about what’s out there in the market place, especially innovative things that are being created to help communities.
